The girl that once noticed me...

There was a girl
Who once noticed me
She took my hand
And she showed me how to smile
She was always there when I needed a hug
And she was always there when I needed to talk
There was something about her
That kept me wanting her near
She showed me just what it meant
To have someone notice you and like you
In her I found a close, true and real friend
She’s still by my side and I hope she always will be
I would change nothing about the girl that once noticed me
She spoke to me like I was somebody
She spoke to me like I meant something
To her I wasn’t just some girl standing next to her
To her I wasn’t a nobody
The first time we met she put a smile upon my face
I saw her laughing and everything seemed to find its place
She picked me up on a day I felt so blue
She took my hand at a time I felt my life was through
Now she’s always there when I need a friend
Now she’s always there when I need a hug
Now to me she’s somebody that I would die for
She was the girl that once noticed me
